Job Summary:
A Concrete Laboratory Technician is responsible for sampling, testing, and analyzing concrete, aggregates, cement, and related construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. The role involves both laboratory and field testing, accurate data recording, and reporting results to engineers and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform laboratory tests on fresh and hardened concrete (e.g., slump, air content, compressive strength)
• Conduct field sampling and testing of concrete and construction materials
• Prepare concrete test specimens (cylinders, cubes, beams)
• Cure, store, and break test specimens according to standards
• Test aggregates, cement, and other materials for quality control
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Record test data accurately and prepare test reports
• Ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, and local standards
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean lab environment
• Communicate results and issues to supervisors or engineers
• Assist with mix design trials and quality investigations
