We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our dynamic team in the Oil & Gas sector in Qatar. As a Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. You will work on a variety of projects, from residential buildings to commercial facilities, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine project specifications and requirements.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework, flooring, and other structures as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
- Provide guidance and training to junior carpenters and apprentices as needed.
- Estimate project costs and materials required for carpentry tasks.
- Stay updated on the latest carpentry techniques and safety practices to improve skills and efficiency.
Preferred Candidate:
- Proven experience as a carpenter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Excellent knowledge of woodworking techniques and materials, including their properties and uses.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Physical stamina and strength, with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various environments.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically when faced with challenges.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new carpentry methods and technologies.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Certification or apprenticeship in carpentry is a plus.
