The position of Clinic Supervisor helps to oversee ABA services provided by the NECC Clinic - Qatar to clients and families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Administrative

  • With the support of the management staff, contributes to the development of policies and procedures for both staff and families.
  • In collaboration with the management staff, supports consultation and training services provided to outside agencies.
  • Establishes an effective working relationship with private and public agencies and other clients to further all program elements in Qatar including schools and licensing agencies.
  • Helps to determine future goals of the clinic and works with the management staff to develop or modify systems to meet these goals.
  • Attends all and leads all clinic staff meetings.
  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring process for new employees.
  • Ensures housekeeping duties are completed to ensure a clean and safe environment within the clinic.
  • Creates weekly schedules for clinic personnel inclusive of the Administrative Assistant.
  • With the collaboration of the management staff, oversees the implementation of processes for new requests for services and intakes.

 

• Supervisory

  • Works collaboratively with the management staff and the Professional Development Specialist to ensure consistent trainings of new clinic employees.
  • With the collaboration of the management staff and the Professional Development Specialist, trains or creates trainings available to RBT’s and other support staff so that they gain competency in all job areas including Day
  • Treatment development, ABA, FCT, testing and evaluation procedures, curriculum development, program assessment, etc.
  • Works with the management staff to monitor the staff performance on an ongoing basis.
  • In collaboration with the management staff, assures that all staff performance variables are measured and remedied in a timely fashion.
  • In collaboration with the management staff, ensures that annual staff evaluations are completed and presented to each member of the staff and monitors progress towards staff goals.
  • Works directly with the management staff and the Professional Development Specialist to provide trainings and workshops to clients.
  • Monitors the status of client contacts. Makes direct contact with clients, families and service providers as appropriate. Refers sensitive client and family issues to management staff as needed.
  • Supports the department in providing supervision for individuals who are seeking to become a QBA, RBT/ABAT or are currently RBT’s/ABAT’s.
  • Ensures communication with the management staff in regards to staffing needs and upcoming staffing needs in a timely manner.

 

• Clinical/Educational

  • Supervises clients and clinic personnel and care for their physical, emotional health and safety, recognizing their worth, affirming their abilities, and striving to promote dignity in all relationships.
  • If necessary, with support of the management staff, establishes a Peer Review process to monitor client/consumer progress and coordinate the design and implementation of programs to decrease challenging and increase appropriate competing behaviors.
  • Monitors and assures that all client/consumer performance variables are measured and remedied in a timely fashion, with the support of the management staff as needed.
  • Oversees, participates and supports direct care staff in implementation of ACE®.
  • Monitors client/consumer progress and program issues so that;
  1. There is a written program for each Individualized Treatment Plan objective and other need areas as appropriate. Programs should contain teaching and treatment procedures that are documented as effective interventions in the behavioral literature.
  2. There is a consistent and accurate implementation of ACEâ programs and objectives.
  3. Programs should emphasize positive behavior change procedures. Punishment and restraint procedures must be developed under the direct supervision of the management staff and should be used only when necessary and should follow NECC’s monitoring systems and protocol:
  4. Medication Review, Program Review Board and Human Rights Committee.
  5. All educational programs use the ACE® curriculum as available.
  6. Ensures that data are entered and updated on a daily/weekly basis.
  7. Ensures that educational and behavioral programs are observed regularly and modified as necessary such that clients make maximum progress.
  8. There is a recent reinforcement or preference assessment for each client/consumer, and that the identified reinforcers are listed and available.
  9. Function-based treatments are in place for each challenging behavior that is identified as critical for the independent development of the client.
  10. Appropriate behavior to serve a similar function as the challenging behavior is taught and reinforced.
  11. Ensures that all relevant clinic personnel are trained in implementation of program.
  12. Program implementation and clients/consumers are observed regularly and frequently in all locations/environments for procedural integrity and provided feedback to implementers based on observation.
  13. Assures staff retraining as necessary in program implementation.
  14. Monitors behavioral objectives and data systems to reflect behavioral status so that progress is enhanced, and that lack of progress is met with timely changes in teaching strategies.
  • Assists with clients as needed if relevant clinic personnel are not available (i.e. challenging behavior situations or staff vacations).
  • In collaboration with the management staff and the Professional Development Specialist, attends, participates in, and leads staff development for RBT’s/ABAT’s.

 

• General:

  • Creates a culture in the clinic that provides a supportive, cohesive and positive
  • environment for all staff and clients.
  • Is a professional representative of the New England Center for Children.
  • Follows NECC Clinic Qatar policies and identifies inconsistencies.
  • Works effectively and professionally with all clients, outside agencies and
  • colleagues.
  • Shows a positive and supportive attitude toward the NECC.
  • Accepts and utilizes feedback from staff and supervisor(s).
  • Finds professional development opportunities in areas for skill growth.
