The goal of the Pastry Chef is to manage the Pastry Bakery. The Pastry Chef will take council from the FNB/Culinary Manager to create, implement menu and concepts but the position is designed so that individuals will work in a manner that is consistent as that of an independent owner/operator.
Someone who lives his hobby and is passionate about baking. Someone who is creative, and artistic with art on hand and enjoys working in a lively, fast-paced, high-stress environment. Someone who can inspire his brigade of Chefs to be their best while assuring close attention to details and quality does not compromise on safety and hygiene practices. Someone who is a natural leader and enjoys the unpredictable milieu of managing the restaurant as an owner.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have experience in a similar role in a 5. luxury hotel and display strong traits in the following areas:
In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations
Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills
Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service
Proficient in general computer knowledge
A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast paced customer service environment
Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
Strong training and communication skills
Culinary education and/or on the job training, independent restaurant experience is preferred
Geographic and schedule flexibility preferred
