CNA-Q is the third largest post-secondary institution in Qatar, transitioning to become a national university of science and technology. Since September 2021, the College has introduced 20 Bachelor and 3 Master Degree programs in a wide range of technical and occupational areas including Business Management and Information Technology, Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades, and Health Sciences, which provide a high-quality mix of theory and applied vocational and occupational skills and competences, coupled with career-oriented, practical education and training. A number of these programs are accredited by professional bodies in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The School of General Education provides a range of introductory courses to all students of the College in subjects that support the academic structure of the academic programs. The General Education Curriculum is designed around core courses in mathematics, natural sciences, English communication, global awareness, social sciences, and other elective courses, aimed at developing an understanding of fundamental concepts and their applications.
The School of General Education invites applications for part-time faculty in Physics, starting in January 2022.
Your commitment
Reporting to the Department Chair, you will be teaching first-year General Physics and/or Health Science Physics, to students enrolled in Engineering and Health Science programs. Course topics may include mechanics, electricity, magnetism, sound, thermodynamics and quantum physics. You will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment. You will be responsible for developing teaching and assessment materials as well as keeping student records. You may also be asked to keep a course portfolio with documents required for program review and accreditation processes and engage in instructional development/improvement plans.
